How does this work?

Expungement is the legal process of sealing a criminal record so it is no longer accessible to the public. GLEN helps eligible individuals in Michigan navigate this process by providing guidance, resources, and financial assistance to cover associated costs.

Eligibility for expungement in Michigan depends on various factors, including the type of offense, the number of convictions, and the amount of time that has passed since the completion of the sentence. We encourage individuals to contact us for an initial assessment of their eligibility.

GLEN raises funds through donations and fundraising events to provide financial assistance to eligible individuals who cannot afford the fees associated with the expungement process, such as court filing fees and legal representation in some cases.

There are several ways you can support GLEN! You can make a financial donation, volunteer your time and skills, or help us raise awareness about the importance of expungement and second chances in Michigan.

Expungement can significantly improve an individual's life by removing barriers to employment, housing, education, and civic participation. It offers a chance for a fresh start and the opportunity to fully reintegrate into the community.
